Pavilions and Follies: Phu Hoang and Rachely Rotem



On January 11, 2012, The Architectural League presented a panel discussion among emerging architects and designers on the topic of pavilions, follies, and other small-scale, contemporary projects. In this video, Rachely Rotem and Phu Hoang present a number of collaborations including “Exhale Pavilion,” the beachfront stage for 2010 Art Basel Miami, and “Lighter Than Air,” a pop-up public space to be built on a barge in Fort Point Channel, Boston in September 2012.

Rachely Rotem is the founder and principal of Rachely Rotem Studio, llc. The design practice, based in New York City and Tel Aviv, works in architectural design, interiors, and urban environments. Phu Hoang is the founder and principal of Phu Hoang Office, a New York-based architecture practice with projects in architecture, interior, and installation design.
