The recipient John Thompson is an architect and urban designer with extensive international experience of urban regeneration and mixed-used development in both the public and private sectors. He is Founder Chairman of the architects, planners and placemakers JTP and Founder Chairman (and now Honorary President) of The Academy of Urbanism.
The award is accepted by a colleague David Harrison, who charts John Thompson’s extraordinary influence on planning, architecture and urban design in recent decades.
