The subject of this diploma thesis is a mountain shelter in Beskid Wyspowy, situated near the top of the Mogielica Mountain (1170 m n.p.m.).
The analysis is focused on the issue of developing a mountain lodge building based on raw and minimalistic aesthetic values, that will be a joint between tradition and modernity; lach and highlander architecture; ecologic solutions with the possibly lowest impact on environment and highly advanced technological systems.
The goal of this study is to determine the possibility to preserve traditional values and derive from historical standards in a way appropriate for contemporary reality and needs. The analysis is based on data gathered in Książnica Pomorska, Muzeum Regionalne Ziemi Limanowskiej in Limanowa, studies from Digital Library of Politechnika Krakowska and data collected during the visit to the plot, social and specialist consultations.
