MOBILIA

Montréal, Canada, 2017-02-21 –

For the first time, MOBILIA participated in Canada’s Interior Design Show in Toronto (January 19-22) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and took home the prestigious Best Booth Design Gold Award in it’s category. MOBILIA featured its Roaring Twenties collection, designed in collaboration with Canadian décor darling Janette Ewen.

The collection of furniture and accessories was elevated with the ambiance of a velvety Speakeasy, complete with a jazz-age soundtrack and refreshments.

Designed by Montreal agency Jump&Love with the collaboration of DIX au carré, the booth invited guests to experience the allure of the 1920s in a sleek, semi open-concept space in the form of a house reminiscent of the MOBILIA logo.

“We created an intimate and ultra-glam space including jazz, champagne and even a gramophone! With the house being the iconic symbol of MOBILIA, we built the illusion of a house using bolts of black and gold velvet – two key colours present in the Roaring Twenties collection. The fabric framework was also utilized to form intimate spaces where the visitor discovered unique items from the collection.”

– Marie-Hélène Trottier of Jump&Love

“MOBILIA is proudly Canadian, and we are very honoured to have been presented with the Best Booth Design Gold Award at this important national interior design show. To have our vision and standards recognized by the IDS is an accolade we are excited to add to the company’s achievements.”

– Johannes Kau of Mobilia

Revisiting The Roaring Twenties

The Roaring Twenties collection brings a touch of luxury, novelty and joie de vivre. All this with some unique pieces that Janette is particularly fond of—the lamps by Montreal’s up-and-coming designer Jean-Pascal Gauthier; nothing short of beaming works of art.

Created in Janette Ewen’s California workshop, the The Roaring Twenties collection dazzles the senses with soft velvets, ultrachic fabrics and geometric patterns. This vibrant, unbridled collection celebrates the Golden Twenties while shining a modern light on its designs. Perfect for any decor, for a subtle or dramatic impact, to your wild imagination’s content!

“Janette Ewen’s exuberance of imagination shines through this collaboration. She fosters a deeply creative approach, offers solid experience and brings forward an outside perspective,” mentions Johannes Kau, MOBILIA President. “What’s more, the final product blends perfectly with our Wow World and pushes us in a new direction.”

The capsule collection The Roaring Twenties is available in stores and online at mobilia.ca
