In his talk ‘Machine Language’, computer and political scientist, Pierre Depaz, talks about “how we came to frame the computing machine, the latest miracle in human history, in terms of human words, and how through doing that, we allowed numerical systems to make unequivocal decisions about our lives”. The Serpentine’s annual festival of ideas brought together practitioners from the fields of activism, art, anthropology, architecture, literature, music, philosophy, theology and science.
