Milan
May 5 to 7 at SIDIM and May 13 to 16 at Wanted Design in New York
Montréal, Canada, 2016-05-02 –
After impressing and winning over foodies with its sophisticated, authentic, local products, Quebec’s Milan is going international with curated tools for culinary enthusiasts from top designers all over the globe.
Milan is celebrating this momentous event by collaborating with famed French designer Samuel Accoceberry, winner of a 2013 Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris for his body of work and a host of international honors, including three Red Dot Design Awards.
This creative partnership has already given the world Simona, a luxury soap for the kitchen with an eye-catching, original look for an incredible user experience.
This innovative company is carving out a very special place in the market with tools and accessories that are both luxurious and affordable, emphasizing the user experience and meticulous craftsmanship. Milan’s handpicked designers will fashion products that meet its exacting demands for aesthetic appeal and practicality.
“Our goal in curating designs is to showcase other talented designers by offering them a unique production platform and a way to make a name for themselves,” said Milan’s founder Tony Gaudette. “Milan’s pieces will reflect the values of our company, which was founded on originality, creativity, and inspiration.”
The Montreal-based firm already got the ball rolling in 2015 with Sofia, a pepper mill created by Italian designer Carlo Trevisani. A timeless wooden piece with clean lines, it walked off with a Grands Prix du Design in the kitchen product category shortly after its launch. Now, by selecting an exclusive work by Samuel Accoceberry, Milan has continued and made official its adventure in design curating.
Milan heads off to Italy for the April 12 to 17 Mostra Disinquinamente, Milan where it will spread the word about its kitchen collection and celebrate its role as design curator. It will also attend the May 5 to 7 Montreal International Design Show and then the WantedDesign fair in New York from May 13 to 16.
The soap Simona will be exposed in Copenhagen during the event 3daysofdesign from 26 to 28 May.
