Architect Marina Tabassum describes how her recently unveiled Serpentine Pavilion, _A Capsule in Time,_ blurs the boundaries between enclosure and opening.
Designed with her practice, Marina Tabassum Architects, the light-filled, partially-sheltered structure has cuts to create a connection with the park.
“An idea of a pavilion paradigm really exists also in our landscape in Bangladesh, where we have a subtropical climate, and in order to build architecture, all you need is a roof over your head, so the boundary between in and out is almost nonexistent.”
Visit Tabassum’s Pavilion in Kensington Gardens from 6 June – 26 October 2025.
