Leveraging Technology to Provide Nature Based Solutions for the Future City

This is a presentation from the National Urban Design Conference 2024: Towards a New Urban Renaissance.
Charlotte Markey has over fifteen years experience in the urban planning and SUDs sectors with particular expertise in the integration of green infrastructure and engineered solutions. She has been involved in several EU and UK wide research projects focused on innovations to augment and monitor urban SUDs.
She is currently a PhD researcher at the University of Exeter where she is focused on the integration of technologies into Nature Based Solutions. She has an abiding interest in the concept of the ‘Nature Based Enterprise’ and how technology and what she terms ‘Smart Nature Based Systems’ are part of a wider digital transformation of the Construction sector.
