Lego launches Braille Bricks for blind and partially sighted children

Lego has created a variation of its building bricks printed with letters and numbers from the braille alphabet for partially sighted and blind children.

Previewed this week at the Sustainable Brands Conference in Paris, the Braille Bricks series – which is compatible with Lego’s wider collection – features the same number of studs used for individual letters, numbers and symbols in the Braille alphabet.

Each brick is also printed with standard numbers, symbols and letters so that sighted teachers, students and family can play alongside the children.

With 250 bricks in total, covering the full alphabet, numbers between zero and nine and a selection mathematical symbols, the collection aims to provide an inclusive opportunity for children with visual impairments to learn and develop new skills through interactive games.
