Landslide 2020: Women Take the Lead – Anne Spencer Garden & House

In the early- to mid-twentieth century Harlem Renaissance poet Anne Spencer created and refined this residential garden built on the site of a former Civil War Confederate encampment. The site’s director and curator, her granddaughter Shaun Spencer-Hester, recalls the garden’s history and Spencer’s life.
