On March 10, 2016, Victoria Taylor presented “Landscape Punctures” as part of the Building, Ecology, Science and Technology (B.E.S.T.) lecture series at the the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.

Landscape puncture is a design strategy inspired by the natural ecologies of vacant lots and the urgent need to rethink urban stormwater management. Landscape puncture is a small scale intervention with a potential for large scale positive impact that re-envisions the ecological and hydrologic possibilites of the urban hardscape. Toronto-based landscape architect, Victoria Taylor presents the development of these ideas and share work that integrates the landscape puncture strategy into a studio practice and client projects.

Victoria Taylor Landscape Architect /VTLA designs spaces informed and inspired by context, ecology, community engagement and social and horticultural possibilities. With over two decades of experience, Victoria Taylor brings extensive knowledge in planting design, master plan development, food gardens, project management, communications and construction design. She holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture (University of Toronto, 2008) and a Masters in Environmental Studies (York University, 1994).
