Future Systems is an architectural and design practice headed by Jan Kaplicky and Amanda Levete. In this slide show retrospective of the practice’s projects, Kaplicky illustrates how they aim to deliver innovative and provocative design while challenging traditional preconceptions of space. Future Systems seeks inspiration from the context and the site as well as from nature and technology, drawing on organic formations and the human form as much as from the materials and technologies of industry.
After an international career in practice and teaching, Kaplicky founded Future Systems in 1979. He was an AA Unit master between 1982 and 1988.
