Is kerning important? Is kerning important in graphic design at all?
Today a video based around kerning in logo design.
What’s up people? This video is going to address the question of ‘is kerning important’ by looking at what kerning is, how important is kerning, how to kern a logo design, and general logo kerning help.
You will see that kerning in typography, logotype and logo design as a whole is really quite important. It is as aspect of graphic design that a lot of us are not taught too much about in design school, but it is crucial and can really change a logo design for better or for worse.
Kerning logotype is a skill that is made perfect with practice, and there are various methods as you will see in my kerning in logo design video. One method is simply to un-focus your eyes to notice the negative space between each letter in your logotype for example.
I hope this video does answer the question is kerning important, I feel that I have made a good atempt at addressing it and provide a solid answer for my opinion. I suggest that it is very important and kerning is even more crucial in logo design.
This kerning video is fairly short, but all of my uploads on Sunday are pretty short; for longer tutorials check back in on a Tuesday and if you want to see a specific video then comment your suggestions to me 🙂
