Today’s architecture is continually driving beyond integration to convergence of key technologies. Architectural technology, fabrication and engineering continue to overlap and redefine a truly multidisciplinary space for design. This is most acute at interfaces of envelopes and skins where material, air, water, light, energy all intersect in their respective demands. New expectations on performance, coupled with the evolution of computational methodologies, are driving increasingly sophisticated solutions. Interface: Negotiating Convergence in Architectural Technology will seek to discuss the current state of the art in architectural design of these critical areas of a building’s form.
