With more than 150 projects represented, it describes in clear terms what it looks like to study and deeply understand a problem, a climate, and a place.
This is a book that speaks to the architect, the architecture fan and the layperson alike. The work elevates experience above esthetic and the essays included by Pallasmaa, McCarter, Sweetapple, MacKay-Lyons and Frampton highlight how important this line of thinking is to the future of architectural discourse.
As a practicing architect, it’s immensely satisfying to see the diagrams and sketches alongside their finished, formal resolutions. This is a book deserving of a permanent place on the shelf of your architectural library.
