IKEA launches “democratic design”exhibition at Milan design week

IKEA is hosting an interactive exhibition and event space focused on democratic design at this year’s Milan design week.

In this video produced for the brand, Dezeen Studio captured a preview of the brand’s latest venue, which will be hosting events, exhibitions and product reveals across the next 7 days.

On show within the space is IKEA’s Stockholm 2025 collection, making its world-first debut at Milan design week.

Stockholm 2025 is a furniture range that aims to deliver high-quality design pieces at affordable prices.

A large-scale exhibition takes place across the venue, with installations and immersive rooms throughout.

On the ground floor, an area titled “Do Something. Change Everything” explores how small actions can create large impacts in the realm of sustainability.

Several room-based installations exploring topics such as biophilic design and feelings of joy within the home, can also be found within the venue.

Visitors can also sample Scandinavian snacks with an IKEA restaurant serving up Swedish “SmörgÃ¥s” sandwiches, as well as other plant-based food and drink.

The IKEA exhibition runs from 7-13 April at Tenoha, Via Vigevano 18 Milan.
