Peter Fischli (born 1952, Zurich) is a Swiss artist known for his long‑standing collaboration with David Weiss (1946–2012). Together, Fischli & Weiss produced some of the late 20th century’s most influential works, including The Way Things Go (1987), the Equilibres series, and the Polyurethane Objects. Their practice spans film, sculpture, photography and installation, often examining everyday materials with humor and philosophical depth. Fischli has exhibited widely, including at the Venice Biennale, MoMA, Tate Modern and the Walker Art Center, and is regarded as one of the most significant European artists of his generation.
