Hand lettering in Illustrator, Wacom urban art video!
What’s up guys, I have taken my Wacom tablet out again to design some Wacom hand lettering in Illustrator, this time a hand lettering urban art design. I am feeling a draw to urban art and urban logo lettering as of late, so this video was a lot of fun to make!

I designed the urban hand lettering logo digitally in Illustrator cc. I almost always design my logos in Illustrator due to it being a vector program and ideal for designing logotype and using the Wacom tablet for hand lettering in Illustrator. Using the Wacom pen also really helps the urban logotype flow onto the monitor really well. I am actually better at using the Wacom for urban art as apposed to a standard pen and paper!

Logo designs should be hand drawn first anyway if you professionally go about your corporate logo designs, and then taken to a digital platform after you have created the logo type with your hands. This Wacom hand lettering logo however is not corporate or part of a job, it is just for fun in my free time and very urban in design as far as logo designs go. Also it is very urban in style

I wanted to really capture an urban feel and style with this hand lettering design in Illustrator, making the logotype appear as if it had been taken right from the street, and I think I achieved that. This is not my first Wacom hand lettering urban art project but as of making this video, I feel it may be my best yet!

I am still getting used to using the Wacom tablet however, specifically the Wacom in Illustrator. I found that I prefer to use the Wacom tablet for hand lettering logo designs rather than using pen and paper as I mentioned above, this is mainly because you can step back a few paces with command ‘z’ and you do not waste paper or ink. It makes for a quicker logo / urban art design process in general; so yeah, gotta love the Wacom tablet for that.

I took the word ‘gusto’ to design the hand lettering Illustrator. I was very pleased with the final outcome and changed up the design from Illustrator to Photoshop to get a few different designs. I chose a bright yellow shade for the urban logotype, as I thought it was ‘loud’ and was fitting for the urban art style in this hand lettering logo.

This could be a kind of urban calligraphy logo if you think about it. I am getting better with the Wacom tablet, but I am nowhere near good enough to giving any tutorials on it yet!

Any ideas for future videos?? Comment in the comment section and I will look into it.
