FREESTYLE: RIBA's virtual reality and architecture exhibition

What is style? RIBA’s latest exhibition, Freestyle – a new commission by multidisciplinary design studio Space Popular – explores adventures in mass media, and delves into RIBA’s collections of 500 years of architectural style. This exhibition looks at the parallel shift between architectural styles and changes in media over the years.

The visitor is taken on a journey through time from the early years of the printing press through to modern day apps and technology such as Pinterest. This is RIBA’s first exhibition using virtual reality to explore architecture.

Fredrik and Lara from Space Popular worked closely with students from London Design Engineering UTC right from the inception of the project. Hear what the students have to say about the experience, and what it feels like to see their work in an exhibition at the Royal Institute of British Architects.
