‘Fiat Lux (Let There Be Light)’ by Yehuda Kalay

Yehuda Kalay, dean of architecture and town planning at The Techion — Israel Institute of Technology and professor at the graduate school of architecture at the University of California at Berkeley, presented ‘Fiat Lux (Let There Be Light)’ at the Wright Gallery Feb. 21, 2011.

He described a research project using light emitting diode-based communication, where light is used as the carrier of data to improve the operations of health care facilities.

This novel technology will enable the development of improved health care delivery methods, especially collaborative care models where the activities of related, but physically separate, health care team members can be coordinated during the care delivery process.
