Expanding Modes of Practice: Justin Garrett Moore

The League and Log journal present a series of monthly Friday night conversations based on the recently published Log 48: Expanding Modes of Practice. Moderated by Bryony Roberts, guest editor of the issue, these online discussions will bring together principals of firms whose work harnesses multiple modes of practice, exemplifying a “slipperiness” between fields. An online replacement for the insider’s view provided by the League’s First Friday programs, the informed but informal conversations will be followed by a Q&A with attendees.

For the second event of this series, urban designer Justin Garrett Moore, executive director of the New York City Public Design Commission, will discuss his work with design in the public realm to address some of the issues raised on Log 48. The conversation will address questions such as: How to work across the private and public sectors? How can New York City address public health and equity through design? What is the role of government in design, and how does it need to change moving forward?
