Eva Jiricna – SPACE: LIGHT

Part of the Founding Lecture Series of the AIA/UK, celebrating the AIAs 150th anniversary. Through the presentation and discussion of projects and theories, ‘Space: Light’ celebrates liaisons and dialogues while weaving through a flowing association of diptychs: education-profession; art-architecture; past-future, New York-London.

At the forefront of innovation in form and technology, Eva Jiricna Architects is an architectural and design practice based in London. Jiricnas contribution to architecture and design has been recognised with many awards. She holds honorary doctorates and professorships in several Universities in both the UK and Czech Republic and participates on international juries and lectures internationally. In Prague, Jiricnas holistic design approach has been applied to the Hotel Josef, following the completion of the new Orangery in Pragues Castle. More recently, Eva has designed the new Library and Administration Centre for Tomas Bata University in Zlin and the Conference Centre for the City of Zlin. In London she has completed the new Jewellery Gallery for the Victoria & Albert Museum and designed the Skin & Bones exhibition at Somerset House.
