Docu-dramas presents contemporary architects talking about their work, through the kinds of images they would normally exclude from a lecture: ordinary documents like contracts, budgets, estimates, SMS and chat messages, research and administrative files. Narrated, these dull objects can become evidence for the complex and contingent reality of architectural practice embedded in a messy world.
NOW for Architecture and Urbanism was founded in 2005 by Tuomas Toivonen and Nene Tsuboi in Helsinki, where they also operate a sauna for cultural production since 2013. In addition to buildings, their projects include objects, conversations, broadcasting, publications and exhibitions. In 2010, Toivonen released the modern architecture and urbanism rap album “Urbanism in the House.” They are interested in people and making a contribution to civilization.
