Although almost 80 per cent of the US population live in urban areas, only three paragraphs of the 55-page Democratic platform document is dedicated to building better cities. We speak with Steve Benjamin, mayor of Columbia, South Carolina and Nan Whaley, mayor of Dayton, Ohio on the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention.
