Discussion GETTING FIT FOR GLOBAL URBAN CHALLENGES at CANactions Architecture Festival 2019

GETTING FIT FOR GLOBAL URBAN CHALLENGES — a discussion, that was held within CANactions International Architecture Festival 2019
SPEAKERS: Urs Thomann, Mirjam Niemeyer / CANactions School, Klaus Overmeyer / Urban Catalyst GmbH, Mike Emmerik / Independent School for the City.
CANactions School together with colleagues from international think tanks, educational and research institutions looked for answers to the following questions:
—How can planning and design teaching and practice reflect the complexity of zones in transition? What interdisciplinary and intercultural links are required for that?
—What kind of knowledge and resource networks are required for supporting and managing change in the context of local and global urban challenges?
—How can collective knowledge and non-formal education be utilized for studying the complexity of today’s urbanized areas? What are the benefits of escaping the traditional boundaries set by disciplines and academia at large?
The discussion was open for the questions from the audience.
