When designing a home, garden and furniture for the harsh Australian landscape, Acre took inspiration from the sounding environment for the design of Dune House. Showcased throughout the house tour are key moments of pause, manifested by the considered landscape design and the outdoor furniture by Tait.
The bold architecture is softened by the introduction of native plants embedded throughout the garden. Situated in its coastal setting, the dream home sits on top of a dune in the Mornington Peninsula. The heavily exposed site required considered landscape design that spoke to the home’s interior design. Designing a home, garden and furniture for the harsh Australian landscape, Acre considered the 180-degree views of the ocean and the consequent ramifications from the site’s climatic conditions. The introduction of Tait products was a natural extension of the garden design.
The outdoor furniture designed and made by Tait offers durable, Australian made pieces that align with the architecture and the interior design of Dune House. When designing a home, garden and furniture for the harsh Australian landscape, Tait and Acre both considered functionality and aesthetics to suit the contemporary beach home. The dream house has two outdoor dining areas, which required resilient pieces to withstand the exterior conditions – elements like this within the house were important when designing a home, garden and furniture for the harsh Australian landscape.
The interior design and the garden landscape design are enhanced through the use of Tait outdoor furniture products.
