Denis Cosgrove – Space for Landscape

Lecture date: 1995-11-24

Denis Cosgrove talks about spatiality of landscape and how it has evolved through time. He introduces theories on landscape and inhabitants and gives examples of the most interesting ‘humanised nature’ projects. He starts the lecture by looking at surveys and mappings and moves into landscape painters. He puts a weight on the 15th century when the documenting of nature started changing and looks at how landscape has been framed, composed and selected.

NB. does not start from the begining
