David Abram (November 13, 1996)

Ecologist, philosopher, anthropologist, and magician David Abram argues for the contemporary relevance of animism, suggesting that many indigenous cultures offer healthier and more sustainable models of interaction between people and the land, and the non-human population. He stresses the significance of language, and argues that if we want to establish a ecological connection with the land and a better relation with the “more-than-human world,” all language has to become poetic.
