Broadcaster and historian Dan Snow introduces some of the themes of Tate Modern’s new exhibition, ‘Conflict, Time, Photography’.
The photographs in this exhibition are a moving record of conflict. Some were taken in war zones just moments after an atrocity took place, others many years later, capturing the traces left on the landscape. From shell-shocked soldiers in Vietnam to empty fields in Flanders, both the people and places are forever affected.
