The Provinciehuis in Antwerp, designed by Xaveer De Geyter Architects, is a photogenic and impressive building. The engineers of the German firm Bollinger+Grohmann devised an intelligent structure that keeps the tower standing.

“In order to gain green spaces in the City of Antwerp, the project proposes a vertical and compact volume which replaces former and scattered buildings that used to occupe the site. In a sophisticated manner, the new volume embrasse an older one allowing traces of the past to coexistence with the new. The memory of the site is preserved through the form of the new complex.” – Anna Puigjaner
