In this video, we are going to learn how to use blend modes with adjustment layers to obtain the most advanced effects non-destructively. First off, we are going to look at how to use blend modes to do very essential and fundamental stuff like brightening or darkening the image and adding contrast and understand what happens when. Then we are going to look at how to use these methods in real world scenarios. For example, since, Multiply darkens things, we can use it to bring back the details in the clouds.
Then, we’ll learn the most common way to do it and explain why that is wrong. Hence, we will figure out a solution in which we will eventually use adjustment layers with blend modes. This will solve two crucial problems for us that we’ll discuss in the video.
This video is an introduction to how you can just use blending modes to do the some of the most advanced image processing
like bringing out the details in highlights and shadows manually and increasing contrast selectively.
