Besides, History. Apparent Banality: Go Hasegawa



Go Hasegawa discusses a 1:1 model of his house in Kyodo, in the context of the CCA exhibition Besides, History: Go Hasegawa, Kersten Geers, David Van Severen.

In this exhibition, Go Hasegawa, Kersten Geers, and David Van Severen reread, redraw, translate, and appropriate from the past and from each other in order to construct relationships and meaning out of a constellation of historical references. History becomes something that can be used rather than just studied.

Go Hasegawa présente une maquette de sa maison à Kyodo, à une échelle de 1:1, dans le cadre de l’exposition L’histoire, par ailleurs : Go Hasegawa, Kersten Geers, David Van Severen, au CCA.

Dans cette exposition, Go Hasegawa, Kersten Geers et David Van Severen relisent, redessinent, transposent et s’approprient le passé et leurs visions respectives pour pouvoir bâtir des relations et extraire des significations à partir d’une constellation de références. L’histoire devient alors un objet qu’on peut utiliser, et non pas seulement un sujet d’étude.
