BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE and N&R FOLDINGS both attempt to create new experiences with bags. The two have come together to evolve the futuristic bag “Distortion”. The bag is constructed using the new method of sequence pieces transformed into a three-dimensional structure.

N&R Foldings is a London/Tokyo based Design studio founded by Rodrigo Solorzano and Naoki Kawamoto. With a particular interest in digital generation and digital fabrication N&R’ s work draws inspiration from Origami and its functional capabilities. This has led them to the creation of different articulated surfaces that offer solutions to a big variety of products.
