Azure announces the finalists of the second annual AZ Awards
Azure Magazine
From an impressive 621 submissions arriving from 30 countries, 60 finalists have been selected in the second annual AZ Awards – an international competition celebrating excellence in design and architecture.
Toronto, Canada, 2012-04-11 –
The high-calibre international jury has conferred and the finalists have been selected. Now the public is invited to cast their vote for People’s Choice. All 60 finalists are available for viewing online and voters are selecting their favourites in each of the 14 categories. The winners, including the People’s Choice, will be revealed in Toronto, Canada, on June 7.
The winning designs will be featured in AZURE Magazine’s Annual Awards Issue, on newsstands mid-June. This issue will be packed with the best in furniture, lighting, architecture, interiors and landscapes from around the world. Also included are visionary concepts, striking temporary spaces and extraordinary student work.
Toronto’s stylish Thompson Hotel is the venue for the 2012 AZ Awards Gala Celebration. On June 7, top players in Canada’s architectural and design community will rub shoulders with other finalists from North America and beyond at a reception and awards ceremony where the winners will be announced.
The 2012 AZ AWARDS jury includes: product designer Jeffrey Bernett of Consultants for Design Strategy (New York), Brigitte Shim of Shim-Sutcliffe Architects (Toronto), interior designer Elaine Cecconi of Cecconi Simone (Toronto), architect Imola Bérczi of UNStudio (Amsterdam), furniture manufacturer Mike Keilhauer of Keilhauer (Toronto), and landscape architect Jennifer Guthrie of Gustafson Guthrie Nichol (Seattle).
