Architects Beyond Architecture

For the fourth talk in our Architecture Anew series, we focused on architects working beyond the traditional boundaries of the discipline to develop socially motivated projects.

This a recording of a virtual event held on 15 June 2021.

Architectural training provides a wide range of skills that makes architects uniquely suited to developing creative projects far beyond just the designing of buildings. From mapping terrains and communities, to developing revolutionary apps, creating documentary films, and undertaking radical fieldwork, architects are increasingly utilising their varied skillsets to develop humanitarian projects.

Speakers:
Mark E Breeze – Architect and Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker
Kishan San – Architectural researcher, designer, and educator for Forensic Architecture (FA)
Lindsay Bremner – Professor of Architecture, University of Westminster in London, Director of Research in the School of Architecture and Cities
Chris Hildrey – Architect and developer of ProxyAddress

Chairs:
Harriet Harriss – Architect, Dean of the Pratt School of Architecture
Roberta Marcaccio – Editor, educator at the Architectural Association in London
