Andrew Kudless is a designer based in Oakland, California.
In 2004, he founded Matsys, a design studio exploring the emergent relationships between architecture, engineering, biology, and computation. He holds a Master of Arts in Emergent Technologies and Design from the Architectural Association and a Master of Architecture from Tulane University. In addition to his keynote lecture, and in collaboration with Fabrication Lab Manager, Melissa Goldman and Assistant Professor of Architecture, Michael Beaman, Kudless is leading a workshop with students at UVA’s School of Architecture focusing on designing and fabricating a pavilion on grounds to be presented during the University’s Bicentennial Celebration in October.
