A Home Renovation and Extension that Embraces the Garden

Fiona Dunin, architect and Director of FMD Architects, stumbled across a 1920’s California Bungalow, and decided to attend the auction just out of interest, but ended up walking out as the owner. Fiona initially restored the original home, then proceed with further renovations and extensions in a series of stages.

A strong feature of the home is the pentagonal end in the new extension, with a window seat that connects you with the garden, something which Fiona put a strong emphasis on. The extension also allows much needed northern sun into the living areas, as well as test new products and materials before potentially specifying them on client projects.
