This week, we’re speaking with the founder of M_A/D, Herman Morgan.
Herman began his architectural studies at South Bank in London, completing at Metropolitan University in 2006. He’s worked for some great practices like Adjaye Associates, Arup, HOK, Grimshaw. He’s done work on the 2012 Olympic Legacy venue and masterplanning for the London Euston | HS2.
He co-founded the design studio M_A/D following a lot of research and his own expertise on tropical architecture and design, which led to a series of collaborations and commissions in the Caribbean and also in the U.K., particularly in Trinidad and Tobago.
In this interview, Herman discusses how he got involved in a number of development-led projects over in the Caribbean, how they came into being, how he’s utilized intimate expertise and local knowledge of the areas, and how he’s beginning to develop and evolve his practice.
