100 Day Studio: Sound Advice 03 – 'Building Resilience in the Digital Space'

Day 36 of the 100 Day Studio: As lockdown continues, previous physical space is mirrored in digital space which we now occupy to exercise, attend meetings, talk to friends, undertake cultural rituals and participate in events. As we have suddenly been forced into this new reality, new forms of inequality and discrimination are emerging. A portion of the population are excluded from the new communal, public and cultural life, due to lack of digital literacy. Online individual security and privacy is being increasingly loosened and data ownership is unknown. The internet is abuzz with mad conspiracy theories and there has been an increasing number of online trolls disrupting public events, spouting racist and misogynistic slurs. Pooja Agrawal & Joseph Henry are joined by special guests Charlene Prempeh and Akil Safe-Smith of the Resolve Collective to discuss how we make the digital space safe, equal and resilient for all. Music featured in the original broadcast has been edited out to ensure copyright compliance.
