100 Day Studio: Nick Walker reads 'Missing Margate' by Michael Bracewell

Day 95 of the 100 Day Studio: Nick Walker is an architect based in Glasgow and a studio tutor at the Mackintosh School of Architecture. His work is predominantly focused on urban social housing projects, as well as masterplanning. Nick reads from writer and author Michael Bracewell’s 1988 debut novel ‘Missing Margate’. The novel is a satirical critique of the 1980’s seen through the excesses of architecture in ‘The City’. Max de Winter, a celebrated architect, hell bent on destroying his own buildings and reputation, is the personification of success/fame and the emptiness that underpins Thatcher’s Britain.’
