🔴 The Consequences of Comparison | Measuring Your Progress

We all compare. It’s how we learn and gauge progress. But there is a dark side to comparison. Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” How can we learn, measure progress without feeling like we are so far from our goals?

This + more! We’re going to introduce two new segments called “Pitch This” & “What I learned in design school”.

02:16 Despair & Shame: The gap between the work that we think we are capable of doing versus what we create.
03:35 Q: Were there any other people that you could confide in?
04:16 Compare equals despair: why are you comparing yourself with people who have been doing this much longer?
05:24 Q: When did you start to feel comfortable with where you are on your journey?
08:04 Comparison breeds jealousy, measure your growth by how far you’ve grown.
09:53 Don’t mistake some else’s ending for your beginning
12:35 Comparing salaries takes all of the joy out of it.
14:31 Building Rapport: Learning through comparison
