Following the wonderful launch of its “Ropero” Wardrobe System at Cologne’s IMM Furniture Fair this past January, Hierve is delighted to bring the project to Superstudios Piu´s famous Temporary Museum For New Design. We will be exhibiting at the Discovering section (Basement, Area E), at Superstudio Group Srl, Via Tortona 27, Milano, 20144.
Ropero, which translates to “wardrobe” in Spanish, is a modular freestanding wardrobe system that represents a spark of spontaneous ingenuity to blend both the traditional wardrobe and glass cabinet motifs – giving birth to a practical and flexible solution that creatively addresses contemporary needs for clothes storage.
Offering a wide range of possible configurations, colour combinations, lighting effects and reflections, Ropero enriches the visual experience of the interior space by lending to its expressive design a viable functionality as a storage area.
Comprising a series of stackable modules and bases that can be freely arranged according to the client’s whims and needs, this design breathes strong personality and allows it to take on a lively character of its own. Depending on the storage needs, space constraints and financial possibilities of each client, these modules and bases may be configured to taste.
The modules are fully customisable – this means that clients are open to choices: any colour from the Pantone spectrum for the inner MDF structure, any type of solid wood as well as a choice of mirrors or glass for the outer frame. We are happy to help any client in need of a tailor made solution for his or her needs.
The system has these following categories of modules:
Lower Modules (97 x 92 x 80 cm each)
Placed closest to the floor, these lower modules consist of four types: a drawer unit, one designed for shoes and boots, one designed to hold bags and purses and one designed to hold the laundry bag.
Upper Modules (87 x 82 x 149 cm each)
These upper modules go on top of the Lower Modules and consist of three types: one for hanging clothes, one for flexible shelving and another designed for open hanging, allowing ventilation of clothes.
Full Modules (97 x 92 x 229 cm each)
Comprising a module used for hanging long clothes, these modules have the same height as a combination of both Lower and Upper Modules.
The system has the following types of bases:
Straight Short (76 x 65 x 14 cm)
Designed to work with the Lower Modules and the Full Modules.
Straight Tall (76 x 65 x 91 cm)
Designed to work along the Upper Modules.
The system has the following accessory:
Shelving Bench (145 x 45 x 45 cm)
This is a solid wood bench that serves as a shelf beneath the sitting area.
The system also takes into consideration the criteria of sustainability:
Durability
We believe that the most important attribute to sustainability is to produce high quality products that last for a long time. This is why you will find an effortless combination of timeless aesthetics and immaculate craftsmanship in this system.
Materials
The materials that we have selected have the highest standards of sustainability: oiled solid oak (PEFC certified), MDF/Medite (CPD Compliant & FSC certified), paint (water-based) and glass (4mm clear toughened glass).
Maintenance
Taking into consideration any changes in colour preferences and to facilitate maintenance, the inner MDF structure is designed to be easily removable from the solid wood frame.
Movability
With modern functions in mind, the system is designed as a piece of freestanding furniture. This allows users to move the units around according to their needs.
Driven by imagination and inspired by contemporary living, this system is characterised by a sort of refreshing elegance that will find a home beyond the domestic arena – as it can become a striking centrepiece within shops, hotels, galleries and museum alike.
