This workflow shows how to import almost any location on Earth directly into Rhino using Google Maps 3D data. We walk through the complete process inside Rhino and Grasshopper, starting with installing the Heron plugin, setting up an Earth Anchor Point, and defining your area of interest using latitude and longitude coordinates. You will learn how to connect Google 3D Tiles through the Google Maps API, control the level of detail, preview textured geometry, and bake the final model into Rhino.
The result is a fully textured 3D model ready for visualization or rendering, with no external software required. Once set up, importing a location takes about one minute, making this a fast and efficient way to bring real world context into Rhino.
