Gary Paige, introduces Jorge Silvetti.
Silvetti describes a hotel project on a hill in San Juan Capistrano, California. Part of the challenge was to make the building look like it had existed there for hundreds of years. Due to the location and the parking lot needed, the top of the hill needed to be removed.
Silvetti describes a villa near Palermo in Sicily. The client wanted a private courtyard, the private quarters surround a courtyard and a connected double-height entrance pavilion.
Silvetti presents a folly designed for a competition: a structure that is both functional and a sculptural.
