In this SketchUp tutorial, I’m going to teach you how to use components and the follow me tool to create a dome structure with a pipe lattice structure.
While this dome looks complicated, it’s actually very simple to create in SketchUp. This simple, step by step tutorial will teach you how to extrude the skin, then use hidden geometry to create stepping, curving paths along which you can extrude your pipe structure.
You will probably want to download the extension “Pipe along path” which will allow you to create pipes centered around your latticework path. You can download that extension here –
